2m resolution, Stereo and Tri-Stereo collection
ZY-3 is a constellation of Chinese civilian high-resolution earth observation satellites. The first satellite in the constellation, launched in January 2012, was China's first civilian high-resolution stereoscopic earth mapping satellite. A second satellite was launched in May 2016 and a third in December 2022. These satellites have a Tri stereo array sensor in the panchromatic range and a multispectral camera in the visible and near infrared range. The first objective of this mission was the creation of a cartographic database at the scale of 1:50,000 and to provide data for mapping natural resources, for monitoring the environment and natural disasters, but also for urban planning and national security needs.
